Military Funding

How to Apply for Military Funding

To apply for Air Force Cool, it is a two-step process. The first step consists of creating the Education Goal in AFVEC and getting it approved by your supervisor. 

The second step is applying for funding. Here you will go back and add the Exam Fee, and Prep Course from the invoice sent out by us at Sprott Learning.

  1. Start at the Air Force homepage, my.af.mil.
  2. Then go to Career and Training
  3. Select the Air Force Virtual Education Center link or AFVEC
  4. From there you will need to login
  5. Next click on Education Goals
    • From Education Goals, we will click on ‘Create New Goal’

Here there are different AF Cool options, select the one that describes your situation. Typically, the is AF Cool – PAFSC Related

  • Find your supervisor on the Global search function (very important to make sure you have the right one selected)
  • Next you will search for the course you want to take.
  • Now under Supporting Documentation upload the Invoice you received when you registered at Sprott Learning.
  • Click Submit Education Goal

Once your supervisor has approved your education goal, you can proceed to Step two.

After your supervisor approves your Educational Goal, you should see that “Apply for Funding” link is now available.

  1. Agree to the conditions, and then select continue
  2. It will then ask if you are taking this class from a deployed location.
  3. For Exam Center type in: Sprott Learning LLC (Main Campus)
  4. Next for start date, enter the date you are scheduled to take your exam. The end date will fill out automatically.
  5. Next you will input the itemized costs:

Very Important! Add study materials before you add your exam fees! (When you enter your exam fees you will not be able to go back add the study materials)

 

  1. For the Study Materials input the “Type”, “Cost”, and “Description” as shown on the invoice we sent you.
  2. After that, input the Administrative Fee, and click Submit.
  3. After the study materials, we will input the exam fees.
  4. Select Exam, then use “DL” for the location.
  5. Fill in the total for the costs plus the exams.
  6. Next, add the proctor administrative fee.
  7. Add the Exam “Type”, “Cost”, and “Description” from the invoice we sent you, then click Finish!

Our lessons are specifically designed to work with you, at your pace, to ensure you fully understand the material. But, don’t worry! If you get stuck on something we are here to help. We have professionals that can try to answer questions you might have on the material. Our members are all qualified in the certifications you are trying to obtain, and they know what it takes to pass the tests.

You can follow our AFCool funding guide here. It will show you what courses the AFCool program covers. We are most familiar with AFCool. However, if you have another funding option you think might work, please let us know, we are happy to work with you!

Applicants should be fluent in English, and have a basic knowledge of aerospace technology. However, we have worked with students with varying knowledge of these systems, including members that haven’t touched an airplane in years, or never seen some of these systems. We are also here to answer any questions you might have while you are studying.
